Grasshopper is a plugin for Rhinoceros that allows the user to create programs by manipulating the elements graphically rather than manually.
Make points in Rhino first.
Click on curve button, add to canvas > right click > set curves
Click on the line button, add to canvas > connect the points.
Spacebar, gives you a wheel of options like enable. Select all >spacebar > enable. Double click on canvas and type command if you know it.
Components in Grasshopper
Ctrl>alt >click hold will show you where the command is in menus if you don’t know it.
There are types of components in Grasshopper:
Constructor point component, with 3 dimensions , X, Y, Z. It has an input grips takes input data to use in wherever operation the component handles. there is on the end of this component a output grips: these contain whatever information is passed on after the component processes. Parameters such as points.
WORKING WITH COMPONENTS
Enable your process, seeking the first component that you need to start creating your own object.
After that you are going to looking for your constructor points and your parameters. (PANEL CURVE- DIVIDE CURVE: divide a curve into equal length segments ).
REMEMBER before starting set your curves in Rhino.
The next step is looking for NUMBER, PARAMS -PRIMITIVE- NUMBER that contains a connection of floating point numbers, set it ( 10). You are going to duplicate your DIVIDE CURVE for the other curve.
Adding inside the params CURVE a LINE: CREATE A LINE BETWEEN TWO POINTS.
In the end you are going to connect with ENABLE, all your process.
N.B: The connection must be made in order step by step. Also if you want to disconnect one of your components RIGHT CLICK-DISCONNECT CURVES.
The sliders is a param for identify a single value.
You have to set up that value. RIGHT CLIK- VALUES:
You can also move that value in this case is SLIDERTYPE-INTENGERS.
WORKING WITH CURVES
Starting with looking for CURVE, selecting the first one, adding a SLIDER and set it up. (100 max, 1.3 val.). Attach a DIVIDE LENGTH ( divide a Curve into segments with a present length.
N.B. This component ran once.
After that insert on the canvas from VECTOR – PULL POINT, means pull a point to a variety of geometry.
REMEMBER, before you have to close the pull or the lines are going everywhere without a logical algorithmic.
ARCH is the next step- CURVE- ARC3POINT create an ARCH THROUGH 3 POINTS.
